Born in a low-income neighborhood on the southside of Chicago, my story shows life isn’t determined by the cards you are dealt but by how you play your hand.
Having a background that lends itself to common Black stereotypes – a high-school dropout, no college degree, single-parent household, and other daily hardships – I know how to face and overcome fundamental challenges that arise from lack of education, capital, and the color of skin.
